3. Pongal

Pongal is known by the name of Sankranti. During the festival, a special dish of Ellu is made with coconut, sesame seeds and sugar. In the night, bonfire is organized and decorated animals are made to jump over the fire as a part of Pongal Celebrations.

4. Ugadi

The people celebrate Ugadi Festival with great devotion. There are two types of Ugadi; one is Sauramana Ugadi and the other one is Chandramana Ugadi. Sauramana Ugadi is celebrated when the sun enters the Mesha Rashi. Whereas, Chandramana Ugadi is celebrated between March and April, this is being the first day in the Hindu Calender.

5. Vairamudi

Vairamudi is celebrated on the fourth day of Brahmotsavam, which reflects the religious glory of the rich Kannada heritage. On this day, the avatars of Vishnu, Sridevi and Bhudevi are decorated with flowers and this festival is witnessed by more than 400,000 people.
